THE VERY GOOD FOOD COMPANY CELEBRATES MILESTONE OF TWO BILLION BEANS BUTCHERED IN 2020

The Very Good Food Company Inc. has celebrated a year of milestones, including a record two billion beans butchered for its line of burgers, sausages, bacon, steaks, roasts and more -- a total of approximately 60,543 pounds of beans.

Its record sales in 2020 included 313,286 units of its flagship Very Good Burger, the production of which butchered the following ingredients in addition to beans:

• 34,797 onions;
• 234,786 mushrooms;
• 128,400 garlic cloves;
• 47,148 carrot sticks;
• 17,800 beets;
• 20,706 celery sticks.

Among the year's other highlights, the company completed its initial public offering on the Canadian Securities Exchange in June gained momentum by entering Germany's Frankfurt Stock Exchange in July and entered the U.S. market on the OTCQB in October. Its stock rose 2,384 per cent from its initial offer price on the CSE to its last price at the close of 2020.

The company's production facility in Victoria, B.C., reached a milestone volume of 20,000 pounds per week. Very Good Food leased two additional facilities in Vancouver and California to increase Canadian retail distribution and launch U.S. retail in 2021.

While a global pandemic created economic challenges, it also encouraged more interest in healthy plant-based eating with more people ordering groceries on-line and cooking at home," said Mitchell Scott, chief executive officer. Products under the brand The Very Good Butchers currently sell in Canadian grocery stores and through e-commerce throughout North America.
