Aether amends, extends IRAP contribution deal with NRC

2020-02-03 12:20 ET - News Release

Mr. Paul Woodward reports

Aether Catalyst Solutions Inc.'s IRAP contribution agreement, granted in 2018, has been extended and amended by the National Research Council (NRC).

The original funding of $195,000, ending Dec. 31, 2019, has been extended to March 31, 2020, and amended to $232,500.

The extension and amendment were specifically granted by the NRC to fund the company in completing a rapid aging test with a third party service provider (SGS North America Inc.).

The rapid aging test is a standardized test of catalytic converter efficiency mandated by the California Air Resource Board (CARB). Given that the test is an industry-accepted metric, and that Aether will be conducting the test via a third party service provider, the company is looking forward to having a credible data package highlighting the performance of its catalyst to communicate to the OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) and suppliers. The company has already tested earlier versions of its catalysts with two of the top 10 global auto manufacturers; having third party rapid aging test results will allow the company to expand its testing relationships.

The significance of this test is that the company will have test results that, unlike those conducted by its engaged OEMs, it can share with prospective new partners.

The company expects to ship samples to SGS North America some time in the last week of February, with results expected back some time in March.
