AVANTE CORP. ANNOUNCES OPTION GRANT

Avante Corp. has approved the issuance of 100,000 stock options to a certain senior employee of a subsidiary of the company for the purchase of up to 100,000 common shares in the capital of the company pursuant to the company's 10-per-cent rolling stock option plan. The grant of options is subject in all respects to the terms of the plan.

Each option has an exercise price of $1.74 per share. Vesting of the options is subject to a three-year vesting period, with one-third vesting on each of the following three anniversary dates of the grant date. The options expire on Sept. 4, 2031.
