The Globe and Mail reports in its Friday, Sept. 5, edition that Sheertex tights maker SRTX has appointed Sophie Boulanger as chief executive officer to help the Montreal manufacturer recover after a tough refinancing and the departure of founder Katherine Homuth. The Globe's Sean Silcoff writes that Ms. Boulanger succeeds interim CEO Timothy Leyne, the chief financial officer who stepped in after Ms. Homuth left in April following $40-million in financing from existing investors. Ms. Boulanger has a background in fashion and cosmetics, having worked with L'Oreal Canada, Christian Dior Couture and founded the direct-to-consumer eyewear brand BonLook in 2010. Ms. Boulanger began her career in the 2000s as an analyst and buyer in fashion and cosmetics with L'Oreal Canada, Christian Dior Couture and Boutique Jacob. She then became the retail sales manager for Germain Hotels before founding BonLook in 2010. In a joint statement, the lead investors behind SRTX's recent financing said, "We are confident she will accelerate SRTX's mission to transform the apparel industry." SRTX products are stocked by H&M, Costco, Walmart, Holt Renfrew, Macy's and Kim Kardashian's SKIMS banner.
