The Globe and Mail reports in its Tuesday, June 14, edition that analysts at Jefferies Financial Group have trimmed their share target for Canopy Growth to $5.50 from $8.80. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that the Jefferies analysts continue to recommend Canopy as a "hold." Analysts on average target the shares at $6.80. Jefferies's price target suggests a potential upside of about 26.44 per cent from the stock's current price. The Globe reported on Jan. 7 that CIBC World Markets analyst Sid Mokhtari said stocks punished at the end of the year tend to see their fortunes reverse with the turn of the calendar. He identified Canopy as a prime candidate for a rebound. It could then be had for $10.42. The Globe reported on May 25 that Canaccord Genuity analyst Matt Bottomley was sticking with his "sell" call on Canopy Growth. In the item Mr. Bottomley said "further operational rightsizing could be in the cards" for Canopy Growth. The shares could then be had for $6.44. The Globe reported on May 31 that CIBC World Markets analyst John Zamparo told investors to stay clear of Canopy Growth. Its shares could then be had for $6.05.
