The Globe and Mail reports in its Thursday, Oct. 22, edition that RBC Capital Markets analyst Michael Harvey, in an earnings preview for energy companies in his coverage universe, hiked Kelt Exploration to $13 from $11, PrairieSky Royalty to $39 from $38 and Whitecap Resources to $22 from $20. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that analysts on average target Kelt, PrairieSky and Whitecap shares at $12.70, $37.18 and $21.30. Mr. Harvey continues to rate all three companies "outperform." Mr. Harvey says in a note: "We expect focal points during the reporting cycle to mainly revolve around uses of free cash flow for the balance of 2026 and the announcement of preliminary and official 2027 budgets -- our broad expectation is for a near-term focus on continued debt repayment with select measured capex increases and accelerations. While WTI remains elevated, AECO prices continue to languish, averaging $1.50/mcf in Q3. We have trimmed our estimates for gas producers in recent weeks largely on realizations. ... Our estimates sit largely in line with FactSet consensus in terms of volume and cash flow expectations, with higher variability in terms of total capital spent during the quarter."
