VICTORIA, British Columbia -- (Business Wire)
Vecima Networks Inc. (TSX: VCM) today announced a strategic, multi-year agreement with Spectrum to enable its next-generation DOCSIS/HFC and Fiber Access network. As part of the agreement, Spectrum will deploy Vecima’s Entra ERM422, the world’s first DOCSIS 4.0 Dual Downstream Service Group RPD and continue to deploy the Entra SF-4X PON Remote OLT, the world’s market share leader, according to Dell’Oro Group.
Advancing DOCSIS 4.0 Cable Access
The Entra ERM4 Series is a high-density RPD, designed for DOCSIS 4.0 deployments. Building on Vecima’s field-proven RPD technology, it provides operators with a dedicated DOCSIS 4.0 module that seamlessly integrates into Vecima Access Nodes, including the EN9000 GAP Node, EN8000 series nodes, and select third-party nodes. The ERM4 can be combined with Entra® EEM210, a two-port Fiber-on-Demand module, to provide FTTH services from the same node platform.
At SCTE TechExpo25, Vecima demonstrated the Entra vCMTS powering the ERM422, showcased in the EN9000 Generic Access Platform (GAP) and EN8800U node platforms. The ERM422 supports more than 20 Gbps per RPD, an unparalleled technological achievement. This next-gen solution is reliable, flexible, and simplified for Spectrum deployments today while supporting broadband capacity needs for years to come.
Ready for 50G-PON with the Entra SF-4X
In addition, Spectrum will continue its nationwide deployment of Vecima’s Entra SF-4X Remote OLT. Vecima showcased the industry’s first 50G-PON migration path at TechExpo25, supporting simultaneous operation of 10G-EPON and 50G ITU PON on the same optical port.
With the SF-4X, Broadband Service Providers can deploy 50G-PON as needed, while preserving their investment and continuing to scale today’s 10G PON subscribers into the next decade.
“Our collaboration with Vecima strengthens the technical foundation of our access network as we continue our network evolution,” said Magesh Srinivasan, Executive Vice President, Network Technology Services at Spectrum. “Vecima’s Entra platform demonstrates strong interoperability, operational maturity, and the flexibility we need to support extended spectrum deployments, fiber expansion, and future DOCSIS advancements. The platform provides the architecture and intelligence required to deliver higher speeds, improved efficiency, and outstanding customer experiences.”
“We are proud to continue our deep partnership with Spectrum, providing solutions to build their next-generation access network with best-in-class reliability,” said Sumit Kumar, President and Chief Executive Officer at Vecima. “There is no single path to the future of broadband, and Vecima is uniquely equipped with the products and people to deliver a fiber-powered future.”
