Total Telcom to provide RacingTraX for Martelli's UNLTD

2024-03-08 10:05 ET - News Release

Mr. Neil Magrath reports

TOTAL TELCOM AWARDED CONTRACT TO PROVIDE ITS RACINGTRAX DEVICES FOR THE 2024 UNLIMITED OFF-ROAD RACING SERIES

Total Telcom Inc. has been awarded a contract to provide its next-generation RacingTraX remote racing vehicle tracking solutions for the Martelli Brothers 2024 Unlimited Off-Road Racing Series (UNLTD series).

Total Telcom has shipped 200 of the newest RacingTraX devices to Las Vegas in time for the Mint 400, one of three new races added to the UNLTD series this year. This shipment brings the company's current rental pool to over 900 (race/motorcycle and chase/support) devices, and further validates the reliability and unmatched performance of Total Telcom's unique product offerings.

RacingTraX is an off-road race management system that incorporates multiple wireless technologies and uses the Iridium satellite network for reliable global coverage, no matter where drivers are located. The newest generation of RacingTraX features a smaller, self-contained format, new electronics, advanced GPS (Global Positioning System) technologies and Helix antenna performance. As per the contract, each participating race vehicle in the Mint 400 will be fitted with a self-contained, easy-to-install RacingTraX device.

Neil Magrath, Total Telcom chief executive officer, commented: "The newest generation of our RacingTraX devices is backed by years of previous racing experience, bringing superior technology, safety and reliability to this harsh physical and electrical environment. This new model is also easier to install, ship and service, with increased performance, enabling Total Telcom to provide our devices to even the largest races within our rental pool."

The latest model of RacingTraX s expected to facilitate new opportunities for Total Telcom, with features including:

  • Improved compliance:
    • Tracking -- the race vehicle is continuously tracked: position and speed is updated to the licensed Google mapping service every one minute to three minutes.
    • Logging -- the race vehicle's position and speed is logged every three seconds. This data can easily be downloaded from the RacingTraX device and is often used for settling disputes and applying time penalties.
    • VCP -- virtual check point feature is used to prevent short coursing (cheating).
    • VSZ -- virtual speed zone feature notifies the driver of restricted speed areas and monitors compliance.
  • Enhanced safety:
    • P2P -- push to pass technology assists the race participants in notifying a slower race vehicle of your intention to pass, and logs the request and acknowledgments.
    • Hazard notice -- is a RacingTraX's proprietary technology that notifies racers of stopped vehicles or other hazards in front of them, counts down from 1,000 feet, and indicates direction of the hazard and resets when its behind you. Race administrators are also notified when a hazard occurs to address any type of further response.
    • Rollover detection -- upon a rollover event, a hazard notice is initiated based on orientation and built-in accelerometer g-force measurements.
    • Satellite messaging -- RacingTraX contains the-industry renowned TextAnywhere two-way global messaging system accessed by WiFi from any smart phone, tablet or laptop.
    • Note: All safety features are deemed to be experimental, provided freely and not intended to replace common sense or experience.
  • Online capabilities:
    • These services are to provide a better fan experience in near-real-time, plus increase sponsor exposure and advertising value for the promoter of the race.
    • Virtual map is powered by a licensed Google map service that is fully scalable for any size of race, worldwide.
    • Leader board is a corrected time application that ranks the actual position of the racers and different classes.
    • Text updates is a service that sends a text update of specific race vehicles current position and speed every eight minutes. Used by race teams, fans and monitoring competition.
