The Globe and Mail reports in its Friday edition that the world's wealthiest man is a threat to civil order and democracy. The Globe's Doug Saunders writes that Elon Musk routinely incites violence on his X platform to millions of followers. Earlier this month in England, Mr. Saunders watched a local crime story turn into days of violent race riots, largely because of Mr. Musk. On the night of Dec. 3, 2025, two young British men got into an altercation in Southampton. Vickrum Digwa fatally stabbed 18-year-old Henry Nowak. Police, believing Mr. Digwa and his brother over the one lying in the street, handcuffed the victim as he was dying, and only later realized their error and arrested Mr. Digwa. "Did you know that official police policy requires them to be racist against Whites?" Mr. Musk claimed in a June 3 post. He then posted the word "Rage" above an extreme-right MP's message that "children have been sacrificed to death in order to appease foreign cultures that have no place in our country." None of it had any basis in reality; Mr. Digwa wasn't an immigrant. The resulting violent riots injured dozens in Southampton. This was later repeated in Belfast, in a similar Musk-inflamed incident targeting anyone not white.
