A Reuters dispatch to The Globe reports that Mr. Trump intends to ask China's Xi Jinping to "open up" to U.S. business during their two-day summit. Mr. Trump aims to secure economic wins while maintaining a fragile trade truce to boost his approval ratings amid tensions over Iran. The chief executive officers with Mr. Trump are primarily from companies, like Nvidia, aiming to address business challenges with China, including regulatory approval for selling their H200 artificial intelligence chips. Mr. Trump asked Mr. Huang at the last minute to join the trip. "I will be asking President Xi, a Leader of extraordinary distinction, to 'open up' China so that these brilliant people can work their magic," he said in a post on Truth Social, referring to the CEO delegation. "I will make that my very first request." Asked about Mr. Trump's post, Guo Jiakun, a spokesman for China's foreign ministry, said Beijing stands ready to "expand co-operation, manage differences and inject more stability and certainty into the turbulent world."
