The Globe and Mail reports in its Wednesday, May 1, edition that RBC Capital analyst Luke Davis has reaffirmed his "outperform" recommendation for Topaz Energy. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. David raised his share target by a loonie $27. Analysts on average target the shares at $27.54. Mr. Davis says in a note: "Topaz delivered a solid in-line quarter, backstopped by strong activity in key regions. We believe management will continue to look for opportunities to grow the business inorganically, with the recent slowdown driven by continued capital discipline and focus on high-grading the current portfolio rather than a lack of options. In our view, Topaz remains well positioned; it remains on RBC's Global Energy Best Ideas list." The Globe reported on Jan. 11 that National Bank Financial analysts had rated Topaz Energy "outperform." The shares could then be had for $19.57. The Globe reported on March 6 that Canaccord Genuity analyst Mike Mueller continued to rate Topaz Energy "buy." The shares could then be had for $21.07.
