The Globe and Mail reports in its Friday, Oct. 27, edition that Stifel analyst Martin Landry is keeping his "buy" call on Spin Master intact. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Landry cut his share target back by $4 to $50. Analysts on average target the shares at $53.29. Mr. Landry says in a note: "The management teams [of Spin Master and Hasbro] discussed softening industry trends for the toy market. Hasbro revised downward its full year EBITDA guidance by 21 per cent, a material revision. Both stocks appear down 10 to 12 per cent pre-market. In our view, Spin Master will be impacted by this general market weakness and the company's full year guidance is at risk. We are revising our H2/23 estimate for Spin Master downward to reflect softening market conditions. Our Q3/23 and Q4/23 EPS forecast decrease by 16 cents and 10 cents. Our Q3/23 EPS estimate of $1.01, is lower than consensus of $1.07, and we see downside risk to consensus estimates. Our [reduced share target reflects] our lower 2024 estimate." The Globe reported on Oct. 13 that Mr. Landry had reaffirmed his "buy" call on Spin Master. In the item, he boosted his share target to $54 from $50. It was then worth $37.19.
