The Toronto Stock Exchange reports that Ninepoint Bitcoin ETF has changed its name to Ninepoint Web3 Innovators Fund, effective at the open on May 31, 2023. According to the TSX, the Canadian-dollar units of the exchange-traded fund will trade under the symbol TKN, changed from BITC, and the U.S.-dollar units will trade under the symbol TKN.U, changed from BITC.U. The new Cusip number for both securities is 65445B 10 1.
The TSX reports that at a meeting held on April 20, 2023, unitholders approved a change in the investment objective of the ETF. The ETF now seeks to provide unitholders with
capital appreciation by investing in a diversified
portfolio consisting primarily of equity and equity-related securities of companies that give investors
exposure to emerging technologies, such as
Web3, the blockchain and digital asset-enabled
Internet.
According to the TSX, Ninepoint Partners LP remains as the ETF's manager and trustee. As the units trade in the book-entry-only system of CDS Clearing and Depository Services Inc., unitholders need not take any action with receiving new units.
