The Globe and Mail reports in its Thursday edition that Citi analyst Ariel Rosa is keeping his "buy" ranking for TFI International intact. The Globe's David Leeder writes that Mr. Rosa's share target soared $23 to $180 (all figures U.S.). Analysts on average target the shares at $170.74. Mr. Rosa says in a note: "The key message from LTLs in end-of-quarter catch-up calls was of resilient (and generally more constructive) pricing. We have turned increasingly positive on the group, with valuations having come in significantly from several months ago when share prices were far more extended. ... Carriers noted a recent shift among shippers toward national LTL carriers offering higher-quality service. We also heard of renewed service challenges among private and regional competitors, with both moves expected to benefit the large national carriers in our coverage. We look for embedded operating leverage to begin to show up in results, particularly as y-y volume declines stabilize in Q4 with potential upside into 2027. We caution that macro uncertainty poses downside risk to LTL volumes, but we believe volume growth expectations are fairly modest across our coverage given years of negative tonnage and shipment growth."
