The Globe and Mail reports in its Thursday, Jan. 18, edition that RBC Dominion Securities analyst Walter Spracklin has reaffirmed his "outperform" recommendation for TFI International. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Spracklin shaved his share target by $5 to $155 (all figures U.S.). Analysts on average target the shares at $156.50. His earnings-per-share estimate is now $1.73, down from $1.83 but above the $1.69 average. Mr. Spracklin says in a note: "Our 2023 estimate decreases to $6.24 (from $6.34), in line with consensus $6.24 and guidance for EPS of $6 to $6.50. ... For guidance, we expect management to guide to 2024 EPS of between $7.50 and $8, which we believe reflects uncertainty surrounding pricing and demand and which we would view as neutral to sentiment given consensus sits at $7.78." The Globe reported on Oct. 31 that Mr. Spracklin had reaffirmed his "outperform" recommendation and $133 share target for TFI. It was then worth $110.62. The Globe reported on Dec. 12 that CIBC World Markets analyst Kevin Chiang continued to rate TFI "outperformer." Mr. Chiang said TFI was a preferred name among freight companies. The shares were then going for $113.49.
