The Globe and Mail reports in its Tuesday edition that Scotia Capital analyst Maher Yaghi continues to rate Telus "sector outperform." The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Yaghi lowered his share target by a loonie to $27. Analysts on average target the shares at $27.75. The Globe says Mr. Yaghi believes wireless performance could be the "home run that turns things around" for Canadian telecommunications companies. Mr. Yaghi says in a note: "Telus's 3Q results are unlikely to change the narrative around the stock. We expect strong results in wireless, yet again, however consolidated EBITDA growth is likely to be still pressured by TIXT's results. Directionally we see upside in the shares however they will likely perform better as we get closer to 2024 and the inflection point in FCF generation and deleveraging." The Globe reported on June 29 that Mr. Yaghi said investors should do well with Telus, which he rated "sector outperform." He targeted the shares at $29.50. The shares could then be had for $25.49. The Globe reported on Oct. 20 that CIBC World Markets analyst Stephanie Price continues to rate Telus "outperformer." The shares were then going for $22.12.
