The Globe and Mail reports in its Thursday, Feb. 5, edition that TD Cowen analyst Menno Hulshof, following Suncor Energy's Tuesday night quarterly release, raised his share target to $81 from $74, while maintaining a "buy" ranking. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that analysts on average target the shares at $69.14. Mr. Hulshof says in a note: "Very strong Jan 5th operations update left little room for material, positive surprises. Q4 CFPS beat smaller than in recent quarters but shouldn't lose sight of just how strong Q4 was. Outlook commentary likely back-pocketed for Mar. 31 Investor Day. We could see new three-year plan/targets, select capacity rerates, $5.5-billion to $6-billion capex over next several years and improved long-term visibility." The Globe reported on Aug. 7, 2025, that Mr. Hulshof was keeping his "buy" recommendation for Suncor Energy intact. The shares were then going for $53.62. The Globe reported on Feb. 4, 2026 that National Bank analysts Dan Payne and Travis Wood continued to rate Suncor Energy "outperform." The shares were then going for $72.85.
