The Investment Reporter, in its June 16, 2023, issue, says buy Suncor Energy Inc., recently $39.75. The Reporter said buy 18 times from Jan. 18, 2000, to July 29, 2022, at prices ranging from $20.78 to $68.05 (the stock split 2:1 in May, 2000, then split 2:1 again in May, 2002, and then split 2:1 once more in May, 2008). Assuming an investment of $1,000 for each of the 18 buys, the $18,000 position would now be worth $26,274. Suncor Energy is a Canadian energy company based in Calgary, Alta. For the three months ended March 31, 2023, the company had adjusted earnings of $1.8-billion, or $1.36 a share, compared with adjusted earnings of $2.8-billion, or $1.92 a share, in the same period of 2022. The company's shares trade for a low 7.1 times the $5.63 a share that Suncor is forecast to earn this year. The company's annual dividend of $2.08 a share is equal to a yield of 5.2 per cent. The Reporter says buy Suncor Energy for growth and income.
