The Globe and Mail reports in its Friday edition that National Bank analyst Maxim Sytchev has reaffirmed his "outperform" recommendation for Stantec. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Sytchev advanced his share target by $7 to $116. Analysts on average target the shares at $113.64. Mr. Sytchev says he sees "more risks on the horizon" for industrial products companies heading into 2024 as the "consensus has shifted its view from a recession at the start of 2023 to a greater acceptance of a soft landing. We see political risks shifting to the right of the spectrum, potentially impacting sentiment of infra-friendly names. We are staying sharp and nimble, although it's hard to advocate for material trimming at the moment." The Globe reported on Feb. 25 and Oct. 11 that Mr. Sytchev had reaffirmed his "outperform" call for Stantec when it was worth $79.40 and $91.08. The Globe reported on Dec. 1 that BMO Capital Markets analyst Devin Dodge had reaffirmed his "outperform" recommendation for Stantec, which could then be had for $101.12. The Globe reported on Dec. 8 that RBC's Sabahat Khan had reaffirmed his "outperform" call for Stantec. It was then worth $105.03.
