The Globe and Mail reports in its Tuesday, Sept. 22, edition that despite inflation and interest rate hikes, analysts at National Bank Financial view metal prices positively, citing strong central bank buying, demand from China and India, a weakening greenback due to high debt levels, and geopolitical uncertainty. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that National Bank analysts upgraded their price forecasts for all metals and foreign exchange rates. The analysts updated their long-term prices to reflect ongoing inflationary pressures and anticipated cost increases as mining companies optimize mine planning in a high commodity price environment. National analyst Shane Nagle has reaffirmed his "outperform" recommendation for Solaris Resources. He continues to target the shares at $22.50. Analysts on average target the shares at $22.59. Mr. Nagle says in a note, "Warintza received technical approval of the Environmental Impact Assessment and stands out as a Tier 1 copper development project with no connection to a major mining company." The Globe reported on Dec. 11 that Mr. Nagle rated Solaris "outperform." The shares were then going for $4.74.
