The Globe and Mail reports in its Tuesday, Aug. 15, edition that BMO Capital Markets analyst Devin Dodge continues to rate Russel Metals "market perform." The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Dodge boosted his share target by $1 to $41. Analysts on average target the shares at $41.81. Mr. Dodge says in a note: "Though the sustainability of recent financial performance remains uncertain, Russel Metals continues to execute well and is capitalizing on the opportunities in its markets. The company has started to utilize its spare balance sheet capacity which bodes for lifting the base earnings power of the business. Valuation appears undemanding but there is limited visibility into a potential rerating." The Globe reported on Jan. 20 that Scotia Capital analyst Michael Doumet was sticking with his "sector perform" rating. The shares could then be had for $29.44. The Globe reported on April 11 that Stifel analyst Ian Gillies was sticking with his "buy" recommendation on Russel Metals. The shares were then going for $32.42.
