RITCHIE BROS. GENERATES CA$175+ MILLION IN GTV AT PREMIER CANADIAN AUCTION IN EDMONTON

RB Global Inc.'s Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers sold more than 10,300 equipment items, trucks and vehicles at its premier Canadian auction event in Edmonton, Alta., last week. The five-day auction generated more than $175-million in gross transaction value.

The May 11 to May 15, 2026, on-line and on-site auction attracted 18,600-plus registered bidders from around the world, with strong participation from Canadian buyers across key sectors, including construction, transportation and energy.

"This year's May event in Edmonton was once again embraced by our consignors and buyers as the premier event in Canada to buy and sell heavy equipment," said Jordan Clarke, senior vice-president of Canada sales for Ritchie Bros. "Despite a condensed sale cycle and an expanded auction calendar, we saw strong engagement across a diverse selection of assets, particularly late-model, low-hour equipment. We're proud to deliver a marketplace our customers can rely on for consistent results."

The auction featured strong representation from key consignors across Western Canada, providing a broad mix of equipment across major categories.

"We would like to thank the 1,400-plus consignors and 4,400-plus buyers who contributed to making the 2026 Edmonton May event a success," said Ryan Eacrett, vice-president of Canada sales for Ritchie Bros. During preview Saturday, Ritchie Bros. held a customer appreciation barbecue with a live broadcast from K97, serving more than 800 attendees. The event included the company's inaugural Show & Shine, bringing together classic autos and trucks from the auction, local car clubs, and vehicles from staff, consignors and customers.

The week's customer programming concluded with the annual VIP event, highlighted by the induction of Merv Pidherney into the Ritchie Bros. Hall of Fame. Mr. Pidherney and his family have been a valued Ritchie Bros. customer for decades.
