The Globe and Mail reports in its Friday, Feb. 16, edition that National Bank analyst Matt Kornack has reaffirmed his "outperform" recommendation for Primaris REIT. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Kornack boosted his unit target by 50 cents to $16. Analysts on average target the units at $17. Mr. Kornack says in a note: "Primaris REIT had strong performance in Q4 as the existing portfolio and acquired properties benefited from holiday season strength. While management left guidance unchanged, we expect outperformance. Our outlook for growth in 2024 remains constructive on lease-up at Halifax Shopping Centre, development completions and sustained occupancy/lease conversion trajectories. Lower leasing spreads in the quarter don't fully capture the drivers to organic growth available to Primaris providing upside potential vs. other retail names. Management continues to think there is leverage to the scale of the platform from an accretive growth standpoint with undermanaged malls in target markets continuing to present themselves." The Globe reported on July 19 that Mr. Kornack was sticking with his "outperform" recommendation for Primaris. The units were then going for $13.40.
