The Globe and Mail reports in its Friday, Oct. 20, edition that Desjardins analyst Chris Li has reaffirmed his "buy" recommendation for Parkland. The Globe's David Leeder writes that Mr. Li boosted his share target by $6 to $47. Analysts on average target the shares at $45.96. The Globe says Mr. Li believes Parkland's Investor Day event on Nov. 14 will provide a "better insight on how the company will create additional value over the longer term." Mr. Li says he has a "greater confidence" in Parkland's ability to meet its growth and leverage targets. Mr. Li says in a note: "We estimate strong organic EBITDA growth of approximately 25 per cent year-over-year, excluding refining, acquisitions and the U.S. inventory writedown last year. We expect well-balanced growth across geographies, driven by higher fuel margins, fuel volume growth, non-fuel gross profit growth, USA turnaround and cost efficiencies. We have also increased our 2023 and 2024 EBITDA estimates to be largely in line with Parkland's positive guidance update on Sept. 5. Normalizing for refining, we estimate Parkland's $2-billion EBITDA target in 2024 implies solid 6- to 7-per-cent growth, driven by synergy capture, cost efficiencies and organic growth."
