The Globe and Mail reports in its Tuesday, Oct. 17, edition that TD Securities analyst Michael Van Aelst has reaffirmed his "buy" recommendation for Parkland. The Globe's David Leeder writes that Mr. Van Aelst jacked up his share target by $6 to $50. Analysts on average target the shares at $44.73. Mr. Van Aelst tweaked his share target ahead of Parkland's Nov. 2 earnings release. Mr. Van Aelst says in a note: "The strengthened management team has adopted a renewed focus on operational excellence, cost containment, and deleveraging (accelerated by non-core asset divestitures). Combined, this should drive attractive earnings growth rates (ex Refining), a 11- to 12-per-cent FCF yield, and leverage under three times by Q3/23. Despite the shares' 34-per-cent return year-to-date, they are still trading at a conservative 6.8 times NTM [next 12-month] consensus EBITDA, leaving attractive incremental upside." The Globe reported on Aug. 2 that Raymond James had cut Parkland to "outperform" from "strong buy." It was then worth $35.85. The Globe reported on Sept. 7 that Scotia Capital analyst Ben Isaacson had reaffirmed his "sector outperform" recommendation for Parkland when the shares could be had for $39.09.
