The Globe and Mail reports in its Thursday edition that Scotia Capital analyst Ben Isaacson has reaffirmed his "sector outperform" recommendation for Parkland. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Isaacson gave his share target a $3 boost to $45. Analysts on average target the shares at $42.96. Mr. Isaacson expects the market to "reward" Parkland in the near-term after it raised its 2023 adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization guidance and said it now expects to reach its $2-billion adjusted EBITDA target by 2024 (one year earlier than expected). Mr. Isaacson says in a note: "While Parkland continues to execute near flawlessly on its EBITDA growth targets and strategic objectives, we must acknowledge that investors have become less willing to pay historic multiples for the company's earnings power and free cash flow generation. Investor uncertainty is increasing with respect to the sustainability of the business model. Simply put, investors are concerned the transition from ICEs to EVs may not occur on a one-for-one basis, at least as it relates to Parkland's economics. This has resulted in a moderation of the stock's valuation multiple."
