The Globe and Mail reports in its Wednesday, Aug. 16, edition that Stifel analyst Martin Landry has lowered his recommendation for Premium Brands Holdings to "hold" from "buy." The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Landry continues to target the shares at $111. Analysts on average target the shares at $121.67. With its shares up 33 per cent year-to-date, Mr. Landry sees "limited upside near-term." He says in a note: "In our view, the stock is fully valued at current levels trading at 20 times forward earnings, in line with historical average. We would revisit our stance on a lower valuation or a sizable debt reduction through asset monetization." The Globe reported on March 18 that Desjardins Securities analyst Chris Li had reiterated his "buy" recommendation for Premium Brands. The shares could then be had for $95.77. The Globe reported on May 2 and July 25 that Scotia Capital analyst George Doumet continued to rate Premium Brands "sector outperform." Its shares could then be had for $101.99 and $109.34. The Globe reported on May 17 that National Bank Financial analyst Vishal Shreedhar had reaffirmed his "outperform" recommendation for Premium Brands, which was then worth $98.08.
