The Globe and Mail reports in its Thursday edition that National Bank Financial analyst Richard Tse has named Open Text a top pick, while keeping an "outperform" recommendation and $60 share target (all figures U.S.). The Globe's David Leeder writes that analysts on average target the shares at $50.42. Mr. Tse says in a note: "Bottom line, investors following our research will know Open Texts remains one of our favourite 'legacy' names. It's also one we've been touting as notable in the current environment. Profitability and strong recurring cash flow offer investors compelling defensive attributes. We see a growing base of recurring revenue through opportunistic acquisitions, expanding operating leverage and optionality from organic growth (7 consecutive quarters of positive organic growth in CC) that is not fully reflected in its current stock price." The Globe reported on Jan. 21, 2023, that Mr. Tse and analyst John Shao named Open Text a top pick for 2023. They rated Open Text "outperform," with a $60 share target. The shares could then be had for $33.07. The Globe reported on Oct. 17, 2023, that Citi analyst Steven Enders was sticking with his "neutral" call for Open Text. It was then worth $34.50.
