The Globe and Mail reports in its Tuesday, Nov. 25, edition that RBC Dominion Securities analyst Pammi Bir has reiterated his "sector perform" ranking for Northwest Healthcare Properties REIT. The Globe's David Leeder writes that Mr. Bir continues to target the units at $5.50. Analysts on average target the shares at $5.94. Mr. Bir says NorthWest Healthcare is "making encouraging strategic progress" even though its third quarter results fell short of expectations. Mr. Bir says in a note: "Vital's buyout of Northwest's management contract yields multiple benefits, including deleveraging with minimal earnings dilution. Combined with potential sales of European assets, the process of simplifying the business and strengthening the balance sheet should advance through 2026. Still, uncertainty surrounding HSO continues to create some downside risks to earnings. Net-net, valuation seems reasonable. ... Northwest trades at negative 29-per-cent P/NAV (12 times 2026 estimated AFFO/8.3-per-cent implied cap), well below our universe (negative 15-per-cent P/NAV). From our lens, current levels reasonably capture the uncertainty surrounding HSO, progress on strategic initiatives, and work still to do on the balance sheet."
