The Globe and Mail reports in its Monday edition that as we approach the 10th anniversary of Rob Ford's death, the memories of his tumultuous four years as Toronto's mayor have begun to fade. The Globe's J. Kelly Nestruck writes that the city's post-Ford panic seems to have finally lifted. Torontonians have largely moved on, choosing to overlook that chapter in the city's history. Netflix on Tuesday reopens old wounds, reminding Torontonians of their world-class shame, with the release of Trainwreck: Mayor of Mayhem on Tuesday. Trainwreck treats Mr. Ford largely as the standalone story about an addict possessed of a certain chaotic charisma who ended up a leader of the fourth largest city in North America thanks to an electorate momentarily miffed by a garbage strike. It has nothing to say about his legacy in burying the myth of Toronto as "New York run by the Swiss" -- or the endurance and evolution of the Ford Nation phenomenon under his brother Doug Ford's mantle. Indeed, the hour-long doc is designed to only have passing interest in its subject. It is part of an "anthology documentary series" produced for the streamer by Raw TV.
