This negative sentiment is expected to influence the upcoming federal election, focusing on managing the economic fallout from a potential trade war and the hostility from the Trump administration. However, even if the two countries eventually return to cordial relations, the negative sentiment Canadians now feel will be difficult to reverse, said Nanos Research's Nik Nanos.
