The Globe and Mail reports in its Tuesday, Feb. 13, edition that MTY Food Group is a quality stock with good growth characteristics. The Globe's guest columnist Anthony Menard writes in the Number Cruncher column that MTY Food has made gradual improvements to its fundamentals, yet its stock price remains stagnant. Mr. Menard calls MTY Food an overlooked stock which he believes cannot be ignored for long because of its robust fundamentals. MTY Food is a leading player in the food-service industry, known for its diverse portfolio of quick-service restaurant brands. The company screens high under Mr. Menard's investing criteria. Mr. Menard notes that MTY Food stock price has experienced a decline of 19 per cent over the past year. The Globe reported on April 14 that National Bank rated MTY Food "outperform." It was then worth $59.70. The Globe reported on July 13 that CIBC World Markets analyst John Zamparo had elevated his recommendation for MTY Food to "outperformer" from "neutral." The shares could then be had for $65.70. The Globe reported on Oct. 13 that National Bank Financial analyst Vishal Shreedhar had reaffirmed his "outperform" call for MTY Food when it was trading at $51.95.
