MARTINREA INTERNATIONAL INC. PUBLISHES 2024 SUSTAINABILITY REPORT

Martinrea International Inc. released its 2024 sustainability report on March 6, 2025.

"Our team continues to drive advancements in product development, manufacturing efficiencies and technology implementation, ensuring we adapt to an ever evolving industry, while creating a more sustainable future."

The 2024 sustainability report highlights various achievements and accomplishments, including:

• In 2022, the company set a long-term target to reduce its absolute carbon emissions by 35 per cent by 2035, reinforcing its dedication to environmental responsibility and emission reduction.
• The company continues expanding its renewable energy efforts by installing on-site solar panels at its facilities. This initiative helps lower the company's carbon footprint and supports the company's transition to sustainable operations.
• The company was honoured with the 2024 Apex award for publication excellence in recognition of its 2023 sustainability report. This award highlights the company's dedication to transparency and producing high-quality content showcasing the company's sustainability initiatives.
• Eighty-three per cent of the company's locations divert more than 90 per cent of all waste from landfills, making significant progress in the company-wide zero landfill initiative.
• The company has reduced its absolute carbon by 17 per cent and carbon intensity (carbon emissions relative to sales) by 36 per cent since its 2019 baseline. This milestone further demonstrates the company's continuous efforts to lower emissions.
• The company has achieved a 23-per-cent reduction in energy intensity (energy consumption relative to sales) since its 2019 baseline, showcasing the effectiveness of its energy optimization initiatives.
• The company was named one of Canada's most responsible companies for sustainability by Newsweek. This selection is based on 30 key performance indicators and a corporate social responsibility reputation survey.
• The company's accident frequency rate has improved by 55 per cent since 2019, with a 10-per-cent improvement over the past year. This progress underscores the company's continuing focus on employee health and workplace safety.
