The Globe and Mail reports in its Thursday, Jan. 15, edition that with Maple Leaf Foods' introduction on Tuesday of 2026 guidance as well as a 10-per-cent increase to the quarterly dividend, Canaccord Genuity analyst Luke Hannan increased his share target to $37 from $36, with an unchanged "buy" rating. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that analysts on average target the shares at $34.33. Mr. Hannan says in a note, "Though the guidance is in line with consensus expectations, we expect investors will view the news positively, reflecting that Maple Leaf Foods' near-term growth expectations remain unchanged after the recent run-up in pork cutout values toward the end of last year." The Globe reported on Jan. 14, 2024, that Mr. Hannan continued to rate Maple Leaf Foods "buy." The shares were then going for $21.52. The Globe reported on Dec. 10, 2025, that National Bank Financial analyst Vishal Shreedhar was maintaining his "outperform" recommendation for Maple Leaf Foods. The shares could then be had for $25.56.
