The National Post reports in its Thursday, May 21, edition that a new report indicates that antisemitic content generated by artificial intelligence is rapidly spreading on global social media, garnering millions of views and evading moderation systems that are struggling to address the issue. The Post's Kenn Oliver writes that from January, 2025, to February, analysts at Cyberwell identified 307 AI-generated antisemitic posts in English across TikTok, YouTube, X and Meta's Facebook and Instagram. Those posts piled up more than 30 million views and over 2.8 million interactions (likes, shares, comments) across the platforms, most of it on video-based TikTok, YouTube and Instagram. Cyberwell found that over 75 per cent of the posts reflected three main narratives: portraying Jews as greedy, Holocaust-related hate speech and violent rhetoric against Jews. The organization also found a noticeable "sharp inflection point" in June, 2025, which it attributed to Israel's 12-day war on Iran. In the latest round of war on Iran carried out by Israel and the U.S., founder Talor Cohen Montemayor says they've witnessed generative AI used to not only push antisemitic content but to promote "misinformation and disinformation."
