The Globe and Mail reports in its Friday, Dec. 8, edition that RBC analyst Greg Pardy has reaffirmed his "outperform" recommendation and $33 share target for MEG Energy. The Globe's David Leeder writes that analysts on average target the shares at $31.04. The Globe reports that MEG was added to RBC's Global Energy Best Ideas list, which highlights the firm's "highest conviction names" across the global energy sector, for December. Mr. Pardy says in a note: "We are adding MEG to the Energy Best Ideas list following its significant progress when it comes to balance sheet deleveraging, with direct implications on increasing shareholder returns. Additionally, the company's strong operating performance, coupled with its multi-year growth strategy and the benefits TMX should afford oil sands producers, make MEG our favorite intermediate producer." The Globe reported on Sept. 12 that Mr. Pardy had reaffirmed his "sector perform" call. The shares could then be had for $25.47. The Globe reported on Oct. 11 that Mr. Pardy had boosted his recommendation for MEG to "outperform" from "sector perform." The shares were then worth $26.38. He rated MEG "outperform" again on Nov. 9 when the shares could be had for $25.54.
