The Globe and Mail reports in its Tuesday, Aug. 15, edition that RBC Capital analyst Ken Herbert has reiterated his "outperform" recommendation for MDA. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Herbert gave his share target a $2 boost to $14. Analysts on average target the shares at $12.21. Mr. Herbert says in a note: "MDA reported an in-line 2Q23, but the stock is up 25 per cent on a $2.1-billion contract announcement with Telesat for 198 satellites in support of its Lightspeed program. The company was reluctant to provide too much around the financial implications of the contract, but it did indicate that it did not see a significant increase in investment spending, and it is not providing vendor financials to Telesat. We continue to see the valuation as attractive even with the strong move in the stock." The Globe reported on June 10 that Mr. Hebert was keen on MDA. The shares could then be had for $8.38. The Globe reported on June 23 that Scotia Capital analyst Konark Gupta had assumed coverage on MDA with a "sector outperform" recommendation. It was then going for $8.17.
