Leviathan completes airborne TDEM survey at Central

2026-04-23 19:28 ET - News Release

Mr. Luke Norman reports

LEVIATHAN METALS COMPLETES HIGH RESOLUTION HELICOPTER BORNE ELECTROMAGNETIC SURVEY AT ITS CENTRAL PROJECT, KALAHARI COPPER BELT, BOTSWANA

Leviathan Metals Corp. has completed a high-resolution helicopter-borne time domain electromagnetic (EM) survey at its 100-per-cent-owned Central project, Kalahari copper belt (KCB), Botswana.

The survey comprised approximately 580 linear kilometres of electromagnetic data collection, flown at a line spacing of 300 metres and at a ground clearance of around 35 metres. It is interpreted that over 20 kilometres of prospective D'Kar-Ngwako Pan formation (DKF-NPF) contact have been covered within Central, in an area where this contact is folded into a very clear and prominent domal structure, as identified in 2023-2024 high-resolution ground magnetic survey data. This domal structure lies immediately to the south of MMG Ltd.'s Khoemacau property, within which the zone 5 mine, zone 9 discovery, and other deposits and discoveries fall, and is considered highly prospective for similar sediment-hosted stratiform copper mineralization. Specifically, all known KCB copper deposits -- including those of Khoemacau -- occur at this contact.

Leviathan chief executive officer Luke Norman remarked: "We are delighted to apply this efficient, leading-edge, high-resolution geophysical technology as our opening move in the exploration of our newly acquired Central project on the Kalahari copper belt of Botswana -- a land of outstanding discovery potential. With survey data in hand, our geoscientific team shortly expects to select a series of targets for near-term drill testing, for which preparations are already under way. Leviathan is in full swing in Botswana and we look forward to an exciting 2026 exploration campaign."

On the KCB, airborne EM data is commonly used to map and model a conductive marker unit, typically found approximately 100 metres above the DKF-NPF contact. Interpretations of this marker are used to increase confidence in the location of the DKF-NPF contact and in the identification of structures affecting it, which are considered one of the controls on mineralization. Leviathan's geoscientific team will now use the data to identify drill targets.

The EM survey was performed by New Resolution Geophysics, of Noordhoek, South Africa, using its Xcite system, flown by an AS350 B-series helicopter, and was subject to daily control measures by Leviathan.

About the Central project

The Central project, which directly adjoins MMG's Khoemacau group of deposits and discoveries (combined measured and indicated mineral resources of 94 million tonnes (t) at 1.8 per cent copper (Cu) and 22 grams per tonne (g/t) silver (Ag), and inferred mineral resources of 188 million t at 1.6 per cent Cu and 20 g/t Ag (1) (2)) on the KCB, which, together with the nearby Banana zone, zone 6 and Ophion (combined measured and indicated mineral resources of 33 million t at 1.4 per cent Cu and 21 g/t Ag, and inferred mineral resources of 141 million t at 0.9 per cent Cu and 10 g/t Ag) were acquired by MMG in 2023 for $1.9-billion (U.S.).

Central displays similar large-scale geological characteristics to those observed at Khoemacau, making the property prospective for a Tier 1 copper discovery. Specifically, all known KCB copper deposits -- including those of Khoemacau -- occur at or close to a well-understood stratigraphic contact (namely the interface between the D'Kar and Ngwako Pan formations) on the flanks or hinges of kilometre-scale antiforms or domes, typically within secondary folds, shears or other structural trap sites, which focused the mineralizing fluids.

Central boasts around 24 kilometres of this contact, mostly around the main domal structure referred to as the Hyena Hills dome, as supported by high-resolution ground magnetic data collected in 2023 and 2024. The Hyena Hills dome is the next dome south from those hosting the Khoemacau deposits and discoveries, each of the other domes at Khoemacau hosts at least two copper deposits or discoveries.

Botswana is a politically stable pro-mining investment jurisdiction -- ranked No. 2 in Africa by the Fraser Institute (2024), enjoying investor-friendly legislation, a highly proficient and well-educated work force, and first-world infrastructure -- set up to support mining, which is a pivotal and widely accepted national economic driver. The Kalahari copper belt is regarded by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) as one of the world's most prospective areas for sediment-hosted copper deposits.
