The Globe and Mail reports in its Friday, Sept. 29, edition that Jefferies analyst Christopher LaFemina has started coverage on Lundin Mining with a "buy" recommendation. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. LaFemina says Lundin is a miner that is overlooked and "undervalued." Mr. LaFemina set a share target of $13. Analysts on average target the shares at $11.83. Mr. LaFemina says in a note: "We believe the Street underappreciates Lundin's significant leverage to copper pricing, execution of key acquisitions and promising growth projects. We anticipate Lundin will grow copper production by 62 per cent through the end of the decade, relative to expected industry growth at 17 per cent for the same period. We expect delivering increased volumes into a tightening market should improve earnings, cash flow, capital returns and drive upside for shares. We note our EPS estimate for '24 and '25 are well above consensus. Delivering increased copper volumes into a tightening market with higher prices would improve Lundin's earnings and cash flow and lead to higher capital returns and a higher share price, in our view."
