The Globe and Mail reports in its Friday edition that recently, the technology sector has experienced increased volatility. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that National Bank Financial analysts Richard Tse and John Shao, however, anticipate rising estimate revisions as many companies "continue to lean in on capital allocation/efficiency discipline." Mr. Tse and Mr. Shao say in a note: "With technology having paused its run over the past four to six week(s) under a growingly uncertain backdrop on the scale of interest rate cuts this year, calendar Q1 earnings season will be notable to setting up the rest of the year for the sector. Adding to that, we believe flattening estimate revisions for the group ex mega cap U.S. Tech has given investors further pause given the backdrop. But that does not take away our enthusiasm for the sector looking out over the next 12 months; it merely underscores the importance of this coming earnings season in supporting that outlook." The analysts continue to rate Lightspeed Commerce "sector perform." The National Bank stockpickers gave their share target a $5 (U.S.) trim to $15 (U.S.). Analysts on average target the shares at $18.77 (U.S.).
