American Lithium appoints Cauti as corporate adviser

2024-03-26 10:27 ET - News Release

Mr. Simon Clarke reports

AMERICAN LITHIUM STRENGTHENS TEAM AND LAUNCHES MAJOR ESG INITIATIVE IN PERU

American Lithium Corp. has appointed the former deputy Minister of Mines, Augusto Cauti, as a strategic corporate adviser in relation to its Peruvian operations.

Mr. Cauti is a seasoned mining executive who served as deputy Minister of Mines of Peru in 2019 to 2020. He was previously an executive director of the Australia-Peru Chamber of Commerce (2015 to 2019) and general counsel for Pan American Silver Peru (2006 to 2013). A lawyer by profession, educated in Peru (Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP)) and in the United States, Mr. Cauti holds a certificate in the American legal system from Georgetown University and a master of business law from Duke University. Mr. Cauti is an experienced professional providing strategic business relations, access to markets and business development advice in the Andean markets.

Additionally, the company has commenced a major technical/social initiative on the Macusani plateau. The solar electrification program is a jointly run initiative with the Peruvian Armed Forces, which involves the installation of solar panels in remote homes that lack electricity.

To date, the company has installed over 240 of the 1,000 installations planned for this year to benefit the five Andean communities surrounding the Falchani lithium project. Each solar unit powers a lithium-based battery, four LED (light-emitting diode) bulbs, a torch, a portable radio and USB ports for charging cellphones. This transformative project provides needed electricity to isolated farms and dwellings and, amongst numerous benefits, is enabling children to read and study after dusk.

"We are delighted to welcome Augusto to the American Lithium team," stated Simon Clarke, chief executive officer of American Lithium. "His insights and connections across the mining sector are an excellent fit with our advanced-stage projects in Peru. The company is also very proud of its long-standing history within its surrounding communities in Peru, having worked in the Macusani plateau area since 2004. We continue to be committed to health, safety, and the long-term well-being and prosperity of our communities."

About American Lithium Corp.

American Lithium is actively engaged in the development of large-scale lithium projects within mining-friendly jurisdictions throughout the Americas. The company is currently focused on enabling the shift to the new energy paradigm through the continued development of its strategically located TLC lithium project in the richly mineralized Esmeralda lithium district in Nevada as well as continuing to advance its Falchani lithium and Macusani uranium development-stage projects in southeastern Peru. All three projects -- TLC, Falchani and Macusani -- have been through robust preliminary economic assessments, exhibit strong significant expansion potential and enjoy strong community support. Prefeasibility is advancing well on TLC and Falchani.
