The Globe and Mail reports in its Wednesday, Jan. 17, edition that Scotia Capital analysts have updated their price deck for natural gas, lowering their Henry Hub estimate for the year by about 4 per cent. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that the Scotia Capital analysts like Logan Energy for its "premium takeout potential." They continue to rate Logan Energy "sector outperform," while trimming their share target by 40 cents to $1.50. Analysts on average target the shares at $1.64. The Scotia Capital analysts say in a note: "Intriguing suite of early stage and underappreciated Montney assets offers unique opportunity for value growth. Underutilized infrastructure provides convenient opportunity to demonstrate proof of concept and production growth at Simonette. Aligned management team with high degree of insider ownership, impressive technical acumen, and strong track record of creating value." The Globe reported on Sept. 19 that CIBC World Markets analyst Christopher Thompson rated Logan Energy "outperformer" in new coverage when it was worth 99 cents. The Globe reported on Jan. 11 that National Bank Financial analysts rated Logan "outperform." It was then worth 79 cents.
