Kermode Appoints New Independent Director Laurie Thomas
Victoria, British Columbia (May 22, 2025) - Kermode Resources Ltd. (TSXV:
KLM) ("Kermode" or "Company") announces a change to the Board of Directors.
The Company appoints Ms. Laurie Thomas to serve as a Director. Ms. Thomas
will be an independent director who serves as the Chair of the Audit Committee.
Mr. Tek Manhas resigns as Chairman of the Audit Committee.
Ms. Laurie Thomas is the Chief Executive Officer of Riverboat Energy Corp.
Riverboat Energy Corp. is a private exploration company focused on the natural
resources sector. The Company's principal focus is to explore and advance the
Lake Nipigon, Vista, and St. Martin projects which are all located in Canada.
Ms. Thomas is part of the economic advisory team for Kawacatoose Development
Corporation (KDC). KDC is the business development and economic arm of the
Kawacatoose First Nation and has a clear focus on fostering sustainable economic
growth and self-determination within the First Nation by providing strategic
guidance, developing partnerships, investment, and support for economic
initiatives.
Ms. Thomas has over two decades of strategic and commercial leadership
experience in the energy sector, spanning audit and consulting, risk management,
reporting, disclosure and mining finance. She worked for Cameco Corporation
until 2017 then moved on to UEX Corporation where she was the Vice President of
Corporate Communications until August 2019. She has also held positions at
Standard Uranium Ltd. and MAS Gold before leaving there to become the
Controller at Prairie Agricultural Machinery Institute in Humboldt, SK. which she
resigned from in November 2023.
Ms. Thomas is a Past Director of F3 Uranium Corp.'s Board where she was also
Chair of the Audit Committee. She joined the F3 Uranium Corp. Board in
September 2023 and resigned in January 2025. In addition, Ms. Thomas was a
Director on the Meadow Lake Tribal Council Industrial Investment (MLTCII)
Board where she was also Chair of the Audit Committee. Laurie joined MLTCII in
October 2020 and resigned in June 2024. Ms. Thomas is a Past Director of the
Institute of Chartered Professional Accountants of Saskatchewan and Past Chair of
the Audit Committee, and she was also a Board member for the Rules Committee.
Ms. Thomas holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in accounting
from the University of Saskatchewan. She obtained a Certified Management
Accountant (CMA) designation in 2008. She is also one of the first graduates of
the CIRI/Ivey Business School Investor Relations Certification Program (CPIR)
and received her fellowship in 2022 from the Canadian Institute of Investor
Relations.
