GoviEX Uranium says business as usual in Niger

2023-07-31 17:24 ET - News Release

Ms. Isabel Vilela reports

GOVIEX URANIUM UPDATE ON THE CURRENT SITUATION IN NIGER

In light of the continuing uncertainty in the Republic of Niger, GoviEX Uranium Inc. wishes to provide an update to its stakeholders and the people of Niger.

GoviEX's operations in Niger continue as usual. Its employees are safe and continue to work diligently on its Madaouela uranium project, ensuring that activities at both the project site and the company's office in the capital city of Niamey proceed without interruption. GoviEX is currently able to meet all of its obligations to employees and suppliers, and it anticipates this stability to persist.

GoviEX's commitment to developing the Madaouela project has not changed. It deeply believes in the project and is dedicated to contributing to Niger's socio-economic growth. As GoviEX navigates these uncertain times, the safety and well-being of its employees and the communities where it operates remain its top priority. The company is vigilantly observing the situation, and is prepared to adapt and respond as necessary.

Niger has been a pro-mining country and, despite changes in regime, has maintained uninterrupted uranium mining activities over the last 50 years. This long-standing stability in the mining sector is a testament to the country's resilience and its commitment to development.

Whilst the company is dedicated to Niger, it is important to note that GoviEX is an international company with a diverse portfolio of projects. Its advanced mine-permitted uranium project in Zambia is operating as normal, showcasing the company's global presence and operational resilience.

GoviEX remains hopeful for a peaceful resolution to the current situation.
