GSP Resource drills 3.02 m of 4.46% CuEq at Alwin

2026-10-27 11:41 ET - News Release

Mr. Simon Dyakowski reports

GSP DISCOVERS SECOND GOLD-BEARING POLYMETALLIC ZONE AT ALWIN MINE PROPERTY GRADING 4.46% CUEQ OVER 3.02M (3% COPPER, 1.11 G/T GOLD, AND 61 G/T SILVER) (AM-26-05); AND 1.35% CUEQ OVER 6.54M, INCLUDING 5.2 G/T GOLD OVER 0.67M (AM-26-03)

GSP Resource Corp. has released the results for four diamond drill holes from its 2026 drill campaign totalling 1,155 metres designed to target extensions of high-grade copper and gold zones at the Alwin property located in the Highland Valley copper camp of British Columbia. The Alwin project hosts current inferred mineral resources comprising 1.46 million tonnes (Mt) at an average grade of 1.08 per cent copper (Cu), yielding 34.6 million pounds of Cu.

Assay results for an additional four drill holes totalling approximately 651 metres at the company's Mer porphyry copper target are pending and are expected to be released in the coming weeks. The 2026 program is the first drilling at Mer since 1971, when historic percussion and diamond drilling defined a 70-by-120-metre porphyry copper-molybdenum zone with intercepts including 30 metres grading 0.53 per cent Cu. Follow-up surface sampling in 2026 outlined a 175-by-120-metre copper-in-soil anomaly that remains open to the northwest. Mer is located 1.5 kilometres northwest of Alwin and approximately six kilometres west of Teck's Valley pit (see GSP news release dated July 8, 2026).

The drill results reported today include the discovery of a new upper gold zone intersected within two different drill holes grading 0.8 per cent copper (Cu), 0.67 grams per tonne (g/t) gold (Au) and six g/t silver (Ag) over 6.54 metres (m); including 5.2 g/t Au over 0.67 m within AM-26-03; in addition to 3 per cent Cu, 1.11 g/t Au and 61 g/t Ag over 3.02 m within AM-26-05 (Table 1).

The 2026 drilling was designed to follow up the 2024 drilling discovery of a high-grade gold zone within drill hole AM-24-06 that yielded a single 0.84 m sample that assayed 35.1 grams per tonne Au (1.02 ounces/ton) (sample L645413 from 157.36 to 158.20 m), below the vertical projection of 3 zone mineral resources, approximately 40 m below the pit shell and 120 m vertically from surface.

The same mineralized zone was intersected by drill hole AM-24-01 collared 120 m to the east of AM-24-06 returning a broad copper-gold interval grading 2.4 per cent Cu, 0.68 g/t Au and 35 g/t Ag over 17.4 m; including 4.1 per cent Cu, 0.95 g/t Au and 60 g/t Ag over 8.4 m (Table 1).

The assay results released today establish the presence of locally high-grade gold mineralization within multiple horizons at Alwin. To date, two gold horizons have been identified, yielding significant gold intercepts in at least five separate drill holes. These gold zones correlate with established copper lodes modelled within the current Alwin mineral resource and, given that copper continuity is already well established, represent attractive, low-risk targets for continued drill delineation of a gold subset of mineralization that remains at an early stage of exploration.

Drill holes AM-26-01 and AM-26-02 targeting mineralization west of AM-24-06, and deep copper zones north of the historic 3 zone below the resource pit shell returned assays of 1 per cent Cu over 5.1 m; including 2.5 per cent Cu, 19 g/t Ag over 1.85 m (AM-26-01); and 0.6 per cent Cu, 0.20 g/t Au and 11 g/t Ag over 6.4 m; including 3.5 per cent Cu, 1.35 g/t Au, and 73 g/t Ag over 0.9 m (AM-26-02) (Table 1). Drill hole AM-26-04 was abandoned at a depth of 33 m due to azimuth deviation and is not included in the 1,155 metres reported above.

Simon Dyakowski, chief executive officer of GSP, commented: "With the discovery of a second zone of high-grade gold mineralization at the Alwin mine project, we have delivered on the key goal of the company's 2026 drill campaign. Gold has now been intersected in multiple horizons and in five separate holes, in each case alongside the high-grade copper lodes that make up the current resource. These results point to a gold primary subset of mineralization at Alwin that is only beginning to be understood, and that carries meaningful resource upside alongside the well-established copper. Looking ahead, we are eagerly awaiting assays from the four holes drilled this summer at our Mer porphyry copper target -- the first drilling on that target in over 50 years. Mer is a new, early stage porphyry copper opportunity within the Highland Valley copper camp and gives GSP a second avenue for discovery alongside the high-grade mineralization at Alwin. With copper trading near record prices, this is an exciting time for the company."

About the Alwin mine project

The Alwin mine copper-silver-gold property is approximately 344 hectares and is located on the semi-arid, interior plateau in south-central British Columbia. The historic underground mine was developed over 500 m long by 200 m wide by 300 m deep. Production took place between 1916 and 1981 from five major subvertical high-grade copper mineralization zones totalling 233,100 tonnes that milled 3,786 tonnes of copper, 2,729 kilograms of silver and 46.2 kilograms of gold. The average diluted head grade was 1.5 per cent copper.

The Alwin project hosts a current inferred mineral resource comprising 1.46 million tonnes (Mt) at an average grade of 1.08 per cent Cu, yielding 34.6 million pounds of Cu. The Alwin project is adjacent to the western boundary of Teck Resources' Highland Valley mine, the largest open-pit porphyry copper-molybdenum mine in Western Canada. Alteration and mineralization of the Highland Valley hydrothermal system extends westward from the Highland Valley mine onto the Alwin project (see GSP's news release dated Jan. 30, 2020).

Methodology and QA/QC (quality assurance/quality control)

The analytical work reported on herein was performed by ALS Global, Vancouver, Canada. ALS is an ISO-IEC 17025:2017 and ISO 9001:2015 accredited geoanalytical laboratory and is independent of GSP Resource and the QP. Drill core samples were subject to crushing at a minimum of 70 per cent passing two millimetres, followed by pulverizing of a 250-gram split to 85 per cent passing 75 micrometres. Base and precious metals were determined via four-acid digestion 33 element ICP-AES geochemistry and overlimit values for copper (greater than 1 per cent) and silver (greater than 100 g/t) were analyzed via four-acid digestion ICP-AES or AAS.

GSP Resource follows industry standard procedures for the work carried out on the Alwin mine project, with a quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) program. Blank, duplicate and standard samples were inserted into the sample sequence sent to the laboratory for analysis. GSP Resource detected no significant QA/QC issues during review of the data. GSP Resource is not aware of any drilling, sampling, recovery, or other factors that could materially affect the accuracy or reliability of the data referred to herein.
