GSP COMPLETES EXPANDED 2026 PHASE 1 DRILLING AT ALWIN AND MER

GSP Resource Corp. has completed its 2026 phase 1 diamond drilling program at the company's 100-per-cent-owned Alwin mine and Mer properties, located in the Highland Valley copper camp of southwestern British Columbia. Phase 1 drilling totalled approximately 1,801 metres across eight diamond drill holes, exceeding the planned program of 1,200 to 1,500 metres, with the expansion driven by the addition and extension of drill holes at Mer and Alwin on the basis of alteration and mineralization observed in drill core.

All drill core has been logged and sampled, with samples submitted to ALS Canada Ltd. in Kamloops, B.C., for multielement and precious metals analysis. Assay results are expected in stages through the third quarter of 2026, with results from the Alwin mine target anticipated first.

Highlights:

  • Phase 1 drilling totalled approximately 1,801 metres across eight diamond drill holes at the Alwin mine and Mer properties, approximately 20 per cent above the upper end of the planned 1,200-to-1,500-metre program.
  • All four drill holes at Mer intersected near-surface visible copper mineralization. The program tested historic percussion drilling that returned mineralized intercepts (including 0.53 per cent copper over 30 metres) and the 175-by-120-metre copper-in-soil anomaly defined by the company's 2025 soil geochemical program.
  • The maiden drill program at the Mer property included hole ME-26-04, which was extended on the basis of alteration and mineralization observed in core to a final depth of 292.7 metres -- the deepest drill hole completed at the Mer property to date.
  • Drill core at Mer displayed fracture-related potassic, chloritic (propylitic) and silicification alteration, with trace sulphide mineralization observed through broad intervals of hole ME-26-04, which terminated in trace-mineralized granodiorite.
  • At Alwin, drilling designed to flank high-grade gold values returned in drill hole AM-24-06 yielded mineralized zones in each of the drill holes. These zones have visual characteristics similar to those drilled in 2024 and are consistent with the modelled mineral resource vein lodes, further reinforcing the company's geological model.
  • All drill core has been logged and sampled, with samples submitted to ALS Canada Ltd. in Kamloops, B.C., for multielement and precious metals analysis; assay results are expected in stages through the third quarter of 2026, with Alwin mine results anticipated first.

Maiden drill program at Mer porphyry copper target

The company completed four diamond drill holes totalling approximately 651 m at the Mer property, constituting the first diamond drill program at the target since a single historic hole completed in 1966. Drill hole ME-26-04, collared at an azimuth of 290 degrees and dip of minus 45 degrees, was designed to undercut, at depth, the historic percussion-drilled copper zone -- which returned mineralized intercepts including 30 m averaging 0.53 per cent copper -- and the approximately 175-by-120-metre copper-in-soil anomaly, open to the northwest, defined by the company's 2025 surface geochemical program.

Drill core from ME-26-04 displayed variably developed, fracture-related potassic, chloritic (propylitic) and silicification alteration hosted in granodiorite of the Guichon Creek batholith, with trace sulphide mineralization observed through broad intervals of the drill hole. The hole was extended based on these observations and terminated in trace-mineralized granodiorite at a final depth of 292.7 metres.

Visual estimates of mineralization and descriptions of alteration should not be considered a proxy or substitute for laboratory analyses. Assay results are required to determine the presence and grade of any mineralization, and the company cautions that visual observations provide no assurance as to the results of pending laboratory analyses.

Alwin mine high-grade gold target

As previously announced on July 8, 2026, the company completed four stepout diamond drill holes totalling approximately 1,150 m at the Alwin mine target, following up on the discovery of high-grade gold values in 2024 stepout hole AM-24-06, which yielded 5.04 grams per tonne gold and 1.01 per cent Cu over 7.90 m, including 22.93 g/t Au and 1.82 per cent Cu over 1.64 m. Observations of core from the 2026 Alwin holes identified several quartz-chlorite-sericite and chalcopyrite-pyrite (plus or minus bornite) mineralized zones in each of the drill holes. These zones have visual characteristics similar to those drilled in 2024.

About the Mer claims

The Mer property comprises 185 hectares in the Kamloops mining division, located approximately 1.5 kilometres northwest of GSP's Alwin mine project, and is surrounded by Teck Resources' Highland Valley copper claim group directly west and south of the Highland Valley copper mine's active operations. The property lies approximately six km west of the Valley pit and sits within the Chataway and Guichon granodiorite phases of the Guichon Creek batholith. The Mer claims were the subject of intensive exploration by the Cleveland Mining & Smelting Co. Ltd. between 1965 and 1971, including 16 percussion drill holes totalling 610 m and a single 150-metre diamond drill hole. Percussion and diamond drilling were reported to define a 70-by-120-metre northeast-trending porphyry copper-molybdenum zone characterized by disseminated chalcocite, chalcopyrite, bornite and molybdenite mineralization and associated biotite and sparse potassic alteration. No significant exploration had been reported at the project since the initial work programs ending in the early 1970s, prior to the company's current programs.

Next steps

Assay results from the phase 1 program will be released as they are received, compiled and verified. Results will be integrated with the company's geophysical, geochemical, hyperspectral and drilling data sets to guide targeting for subsequent programs across the combined Alwin-Mer property position.
