Mr. Douglas Dyment reports
GATEKEEPER ADDS ONTARIO CUSTOMER GRAND RIVER TRANSIT
Gatekeeper Systems Inc. is providing Grand River Transit a video and data solution for its ION light rail trains.
Under the contract, Gatekeeper will equip 15 ION trains with EN 50155-compliant rail recorders. ION light rail operates in Ontario, between Waterloo and Kitchener. Most of what happens in Waterloo's technology community, the most dynamic tech ecosystem in Canada, takes place along the ION light rail line.
Doug Dyment, Gatekeeper's president and chief executive officer, commented: "This project is a good example of how our video systems are being used to help ensure safe and efficient transit operations. Similar to our contract award with the Toronto Transit Commission for their automated streetcar enforcement system pilot project, this video and data solution will be assisting Grand River Transit with safety and operational efficiency."
