2026-08-04 13:31 ET - News Release

Mr. Ian Klassen reports

GRANDE PORTAGE RESOURCES ANNOUNCES ACCEPTANCE OF THE NEW AMALGA GOLD PROJECT TO THE COVERED PROJECTS FAST-41 PROGRAM

Grande Portage Resources Ltd.'s New Amalga gold project was been accepted as a covered project in the Federal Permitting Improvement Steering Council's FAST-41 program on July 30, 2026.

Ian Klassen, the company's president and chief executive officer, said: "Grande Portage would like to thank the permitting council for granting the New Amalga gold project covered-project status in the FAST-41 program. We look forward to working with the permitting council, the U.S. Forest Service, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and other agencies to establish the regulatory and permitting timeline for the project. New Amalga's covered-project status will deliver predictable regulatory review timelines, maintain co-ordination between various federal agencies having jurisdiction over different aspects of the project, enhance accountability and transparency, and ensure our project meets and exceeds the highest standards of environmental management and regulatory compliance."

Background on FAST-41

FAST-41 (under Title 41 of the Fixing America's Surface Transportation (FAST) Act), established in 2015, aims to improve the federal permitting process for large infrastructure projects by increasing transparency, co-ordination and accountability. The Federal Permitting Improvement Steering Council (permitting council) consists of the executive director and deputy-secretary-level representatives from 13 federal agencies as well as the director of the Office of Management and Budget and the chair of the Council on Environmental Quality. The permitting council brings federal agencies and stakeholders together to improve the permitting process for critical infrastructure projects. It establishes a structured process and a public-facing permitting dashboard to track projects, co-ordinate among agencies, and set public timetables for environmental reviews and authorizations. This helps ensure projects move forward efficiently and predictably.

About Grande Portage Resources Ltd.

Grande Portage is a publicly traded mineral exploration company focused on advancing the New Amalga mine project, the outgrowth of the Herbert gold discovery situated approximately 25 kilometres north of Juneau, Alaska. The company holds a 100-per-cent interest in the New Amalga property. The New Amalga gold system is open to length and depth and is host to at least six main composite vein-fault structures that contain ribbon-structure quartz-sulphide veins. The project lies prominently within the 160-kilometre-long Juneau gold belt, which has produced over eight million ounces of gold.

The company's updated National Instrument 43-101 mineral resource estimate (MRE) reported at a base-case mineral resources cut-off grade of 2.5 grams per tonne gold and consists of: an indicated resource of 1,438,500 ounces of gold at an average grade of 9.47 grams per tonne gold (4,726,000 tonnes) and an inferred resource of 515,700 ounces of gold at an average grade of 8.85 grams per tonne gold (1,813,000 tonnes) as well as an indicated resource of 891,600 ounces of silver at an average grade of 5.86 grams per tonne silver (4,726,000 tonnes) and an inferred resource of 390,600 ounces of silver at an average grade of 7.33 grams per tonne silver (1,813,000 tonnes). The MRE was prepared by Dr. David R. Webb, PhD, PGeol, PEng (DRW Geological Consultants Ltd.), with an effective date of July 17, 2024. Additional information on the New Amalga mine project is available in the technical report titled "Preliminary Economic Assessment for the New Amalga Gold Project, Juneau District, Southeast Alaska," dated Feb. 11, 2026, which is available under Grande Portage's SEDAR+ profile.
