The Globe and Mail reports in its Thursday, April 25, edition that Desjardins Securities analyst Jerome Dubreuil has reaffirmed his "buy" recommendation for CGI. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Dubreuil gave his share target a $2 trim to $162. Analysts on average target the shares at $163.08. Mr. Dubreuil says in a note: "We continue to like the sector's attractive attributes and we find current valuations reasonable in the context of growing pent-up demand for IT services. ... Overall, our top-line forecast for CGI is 0.8 per cent lower than consensus for the coming quarter and 0.4 per cent lower than consensus for FY24. This creates slight risk ahead of earnings season, but the recent pullback in the share price should provide downside protection and makes the risk/reward ratio attractive for investors given our expectation for an eventual recovery in the IT services industry toward 2H24 or early 2025." The Globe reported on July 28, Oct. 27 and Jan. 31 that Mr. Dubreuil had maintained his "buy" call on CGI. The shares could then be had for $130.28, $129.60 and $150.56.
