The Globe and Mail reports in its Friday, Oct. 27, edition that Desjardins analyst Jerome Dubreuil has reaffirmed his "buy" recommendation for CGI Group. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Dubreuil gave his share target a $2 trim to $152. Analysts on average target the shares at $148.57. Mr. Dubreuil cut his forecasts for IT service providers to reflect higher interest rates and the downside risk for near-term estimates, acknowledging soaring interest in artificial intelligence is "showing promising signs of growth" but warning investors it is "not material yet." Mr. Dubreuil says in a note: "Our forecast is now slightly below the Street's as we believe organic growth should continue to slow in light of recent results from global peers. CGI Group's relatively small exposure to consulting (which is more discretionary), high exposure to the government vertical, and recent strong bookings should help protect its results." The Globe reported on July 28 that Mr. Dubreuil had maintained his "buy" call, while shaving his share target by a loonie to $154. The shares could then be had for $130.28. The Globe reported on Sept. 27 that RBC rated CGI "buy" when it could be had for $134.38.
